Meet our Current President.
Michael Howell grew up immersed in the Ligon family legacy, attending his first reunion in 1981- forming lasting memories and a lifelong appreciation for the history, relationships, and shared heritage of the Ligon Family. Descended from a long line of dedicated family leaders—including his great aunts Henrie and Marguerite Howell, and his grandfather L.L. Howell III, who served as LFKA President in 1993—Michael’s roots in the Association run deep. His family helped host early reunions, including a memorable gathering at The Walking H Ranch in Texas, and participated in historic meetings dating back to the first Madresfield reunion in 1963.
In 2014, at the Chattanooga reunion, Michael accepted the role of LFKA Historian, continuing his family’s tradition of service. He later had the privilege of hosting the 2018 reunion at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville. Michael and his wife, Katie, have been married since 2010 and in Charlotte, North Carolina are raising their three children: Henrie, Slaton and William. Professionally, he operates a boutique window and door dealership, bringing the same entrepreneurial spirit and steady leadership to his business that he now offers to the Association as its President.
Meet our Current Honorary President.
2020 -2026 Honorary President
Our current Honorary President of the LFKA is Lucy Chenevix-Trench, the younger daughter of Lady Rosalind Morrison. Lucy is the 29th generation of the Ligon family to reside at Madresfield Court where she lives with her husband Jonathan and four children: May, Jack, Evie and Max,
Like her mother, Lucy has attended numerous reunions in the United States as well as co-hosted the past England reunion in 2010. In 2023, she and her family hosted another much anticipated England Reunion, 60 years to the date of the original LFKA family reunion.
The LFKA posthumously remembers our Co-Honorary President.
The Honorable Lady Rosalind Morrison
2018-2020 Honorary President
Lady Rosalind Morrison was the Honorary President of the Ligon Family & Kinsmen Association. Her uncle was William Ligon, the Eighth Earl of Beauchamp, and in 1989, following the deaths of her uncle and his wife, she became the Chatelaine of Madresfield Court. Thereafter, she traveled to the U.S. on a number of occasions to attend the biennial reunions of the LFKA.
Lady Rosalind was very involved and respected member of Malvern. Since 2006, she was a Deputy Lieutenant of Worcestershire, as well as High Sheriff (in 2011), a Governor of The King's School Worcester and Chairman of Worcester Cathedral's Music and Light Appeal. She was a patron of a number of other voluntary/charitable organizations, including the Beauchamp Community at Newlands, which was originally endowed by her family. Lady Rosalind was elevated to Vice Lord Lieutenant of Worcestershire, thus representing The Queen in the County.
Upon her passing, Lady Rosalind continued to foster the special relationship with the American cousins, which were forged by her uncle, William.
She was an honored and beloved member of the association and will be missed by all.
